The Short Version
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. We collect anonymous, aggregate visit statistics through a privacy-preserving method that cannot identify you. Beyond that, the only data involved in your visit is the standard technical log kept by our hosting provider, and anything you choose to send us by email.
Who We Are
This website, misaelsilvamedia.com, is operated by Misael Silva Media, a photography business based in Copenhagen. For anything related to your privacy, write to hello@misaelsilvamedia.com.
What This Site Does Not Do
We use no cookies or local storage, no advertising or marketing pixels, no session recordings, and no cross-site tracking. We never build personal profiles of visitors, and we never sell or share data. Fonts, images, and videos are served from our own domain.
Anonymous Analytics
To understand which work resonates with visitors and to improve the site, we use PostHog, an analytics service hosted on its EU Cloud (eu.i.posthog.com), in cookieless mode. Nothing is stored on your device — no cookies, no local storage. To count unique visitors, PostHog's servers derive a hash from your IP address and browser type; that hash rotates every day, cannot follow you across days, and cannot identify you.
What we see: pages viewed, when you leave a page, device type, the site that referred you, and technical errors. What we never see: your name, your identity, or anything about you on other sites. This data is used solely to improve the site — never shared, never sold, never used for advertising. It is processed in the EU and does not leave the EEA. Event data is retained for about twelve months.
Because nothing is stored on your device, EU cookie rules do not require a consent banner for this kind of measurement; our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage. If you would rather not be counted at all, standard content blockers stop these events without breaking the site — or write to hello@misaelsilvamedia.com.
Hosting
The site is served by Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web host, Google processes visitors' IP addresses in short-lived server logs in order to deliver pages, keep the service secure, and prevent abuse. We do not use these logs to identify anyone.
Our domain's DNS is managed by Cloudflare, which resolves the domain name for your browser but does not proxy or observe your visit to the site itself.
If You Email Us
If you contact us at hello@misaelsilvamedia.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use that information only to reply and handle your enquiry, keep it no longer than the correspondence requires, and never sell or share it.
External Links
Links to other sites — such as our Instagram profile — take you to services with their own privacy policies, which we don't control.
Your Rights
You can ask what information we hold about you (in almost all cases, nothing beyond email correspondence you sent us) and ask us to correct or delete it. Anonymous analytics events cannot be linked back to you as an individual, so in practice access and erasure requests concern email correspondence. Email hello@misaelsilvamedia.com and we'll respond.
Changes to This Policy
If anything changes — for example, if we ever add a contact form or new analytics tools — we will update this page and its date before the change goes live.
